Noche Americana on the Festival Circuit: New Awards, Premieres, and an Expanding National and International Footprint
The Noche Americana catalog continues to expand its reach across an exceptional season defined by premieres, critical recognition, and vibrant national and international circulation. Our daily commitment to strategic festival placement and support for independent cinema continues to bear fruit, reinforcing a vital bridge between films, festival programmers, and audiences worldwide.
On the awards front, we celebrate major achievements that underscore the strength of our lineup: Leo Cerro’s Islandia took home the Best Feature Film Award at the 7th edition of Festival Escenario after competing in its International Competition. In addition, Luz mala received a Special Mention at the 1000 Gritos Film Festival. Meanwhile, during its run at the 4th edition of FIC.PBA, El vuelo del moscardón (directed by Pablo Bochard, Oreja Ciega, and Rodrigo Medrano) captivated both audiences and industry peers by winning the Audience Award along with a Special Mention from APIMA.
Nationwide, our films continue to affirm the vitality of Argentine cinema. At the Festival de Cine de Olavarría, we are proud to accompany both El vuelo del moscardón and the short film El esquilador, directed by Paloma Zaremba and Martín López Abad. In Buenos Aires, we renewed our ties with La Mujer y el Cine through strong screenings at MALBA and Atlas Patio Bullrich, presenting Lo que queda del mar by Rocío Caliri, El esquilador, Sigilo by Gabriela Vidal, and Un tiempo fuera by Sheuen Mondelo.
In Buenos Aires Province, FIC.PBA also showcased Lo que queda del mar in the Tramas section, alongside special screenings of Una noche en Paladium by Francisco Novick and Nadie puede decir que esto es una despedida by Sebastián Gordon. Furthermore, Festival Tucumán Cine welcomed Paula de Luque’s Escritor.
Globally, independent cinema knows no borders. In Mexico, the Festival Internacional de Cine de Tlaxcala (FICTLAX) selected six titles from our slate: Escritor, alongside the short films Gloria (Santi Castelo), La presentación (Nicolás Schujman), La piel bajo mi faja (Dani Novak), Amor de dos (Ana Luz Furth), and ¿Qué es firmar? (Rosella Fragoso). Across the Atlantic, Ernesto Fontán’s Una y mil veces screened at the London Latino Film Festival, while Nadie puede decir que esto es una despedida joined TuriCine in Ecuador. To cap off this incredible run, we land in the United States for the prestigious New York Latino Film Festival (NYLFF) with the animated short Carry On! and the acclaimed short film Lo que queda del mar.
